I wanted to leave a tribute for one of the most underrated guitarists in rock history.
Paul (Ace) Frehley has never been a guitar hero faster or more exciting.
Ace, however, was one of the guitarists who have pushed more legions of kids to pick up a guitar and groped to replicate what they saw to their idol.
Playing as Ace is possible from the technical point of view, come up with his ideas and his way of playing simple, but only a little less.
Man has had bad vicissitudes that have put in the CEOs of the Inc. Kiss (Gene & Paul) to put sometimes at the door and replace it with axemen talented but heartless (Vinnie Vincent) sometimes with clones 100% (Thommy Thayer). Only Kulick had an "active" role to the lead guitar, before being ousted in favor of another that in the absence of the original, remember Ace in all respects (including makeup). The artist, however
Frehley has touched the hearts of many. In his little (forgive me the irreverent comparison) compared him to George Harrison. Shock me, Cold Gin, Torpedo Girl, Dark Light, Hard Times are pieces that do not even seem KISS, played and sung by Ace in that tone shuffled to Lou Reed c'azzecca not anything with the tent lights sounds, colors assembled by the late Bill Aucoin.
But Ace was Ace.
Another kind of "one man one sound," the kind of guitar that I like most at this stage of life after years and years to feel fast shredder.
Listen without prejudice, even in its mythological solo album of '78 (when they came in fourth with four contemporary works, however dignified, with a stroke of marketing ever seen, and never repeated). Or maybe in the early work with its Comet of 2009 or the latest album that rivaled the great patinatissima with the Sonic Boom of the brothers-knives.
discover a guitarist of rare sensitivity, tough when necessary but always able to give a hint of his instrument. Feel
instrumental in this often made by other "colleagues" (such as Dimebag Darrell of Pantera). You will not regret.
